Hi I inherited a Hp Pavilion G6 which was running Windows 8 but sadly the hard disk died. I installed a new SSD drive and installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bit as I no longer had any of the original disks that came with the machine and I prefered this OS. The sticker which was once on the machine with the Windows licence and serial number of the laptop has also gone so I don't know the extact version of the laptop but it was bought shortly before 2014.
Hp Pavilion G6 Laptop Drivers
I have Windows 7 now installed and it is showing warning exclamation marks against Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, PCI Device, PCI Simple Communication Controller, SM Bus Controller, USB Controller and Unknown Device. All devices need the driver installed but don't provide any further information about them. I have no access to the internet AT ALL. I am using another laptop to connect. I tried installing HP Support Solutions Framework and some drivers for pavilion G6 but I they weren't the correct drivers and didn't appear to do anything. Most of the links on line wants to install a driver manager rather than the driver and then want to connect to the internet during install. One at least did tell me my Network Card is a RAS Async Adapter.
I can't seem to get this driver on line without ending up with a package which wants to connect to the internet first. Can you help me? Other details identified about the laptop include Intel Core i3 3110M CPU@2.4GHz, Motherboard is Ivy Bridge.
Recommendation: If you are inexperienced with updating HP Laptop device drivers manually, we highly recommend downloading DriverDoc [Download DriverDoc - Product by Solvusoft] to assist in updating your HP Pavilion G6 Series drivers. This utility downloads and updates the correct G6 Series driver version automatically, protecting you against installing the wrong drivers.
It is very difficult to find the respective device driver for Pavilion G6 Series-related hardware because the information and support is hard to find on HP (Hewlett Packard)'s site. Even if you are experienced at finding, downloading, and manually updating Pavilion G6 Series drivers, the process can still be very time consuming and extremely irritating. An improper driver download can lead to issues with software and harm the functionality of the computer.
Using a driver upgrade application can allow drivers to update without difficulty. An update program not only provides the right drivers that are compatible with your hardware, but it also guarantees that there is a backup of current drivers before any changes are made. Driver backups offer an instant, secure way to restore a driver to an earlier configuration, if needed.

I took apart my laptop and put a new processor in (AMD A6 was upgraded to A10). After that, I lost WiFi capabilities. There was no driver in device manager, I tried reinstalling, etc. but had no luck. So I took apart my laptop again and put the old processor back in, but I still have no WiFi. I can hookup to internet via ethernet cable, though. That's just simply not a viable permanent solution.
Also can we get some clarification on the WLAN card. Is it being added as an unrecognized device in device manager, or is it flat out not being seen by the computer. This can help differentiate between a dead WLAN or an unrecognized one. IIRC even with the Pavilion G6's there is a lot of differentiations between each individual models drivers which may cause the drivers you use to be incorrect or may cause the card to still be unrecognized.
Other than that if it's not being recognized on the device manager and not responding to any drivers I'd take an educated guess at it being the WLAN card dying, when you took apart the laptop did you remove static from yourself? 2ff7e9595c
